How can I close my account?

Step 1 - Automated Deposits

To begin the account closure process, you must first deactivate all rules responsible for creating automated deposits. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the app and navigate to the Brain menu.

  2. Toggle off all the deposit rules to prevent any new deposits from being generated.

⚠️ If the app has already created new deposits, it is not possible to cancel them. You will need to wait for these deposits to be completed before proceeding further with the account closure.

Step 2 - Cancel Subscription

The next step is to deactivate your subscription if you have one active. Follow these instructions:

  1. Open the app and go to your profile page.

  2. Press "Manage Plum (your plan)".

  3. Scroll down until you find the "Cancel" button.

  4. Press the "Cancel" button to deactivate your subscription.

  5. Press on the “Yes, cancel Plum (your plan)” button.

Step 3 - Pending Transactions

Before proceeding further with the account closure, it's crucial to wait for any pending deposits or withdrawals to be completed. Here's how to check for pending transactions:

  1. Open the app and navigate to your pockets and investments section.

  2. Look for any pending transactions.

  3. Check their settlement dates.

Please ensure that all pending transactions are processed and settled before proceeding with the account closure. This step will help you avoid any discrepancies or issues during the account closure process.

Step 4 - Withdrawal of Money

To proceed with the account closure, it is essential to withdraw all your funds from the app. That includes:

⚠️ If you have a Pension account, please note that the money cannot be withdrawn directly from Plum. You will need to transfer your pension to another provider. For more information on this process, please press HERE.

Step 5 - Closing Your Account

Once your account is fully empty, you can proceed to close it. Follow these steps to initiate the account closure:

  1. Open the app and access your profile section located in the upper-left part of your screen.

  2. Scroll down until you find the Close Account section.

  3. Press the Close Account button.

  4. Choose the option Please close my account to confirm the account closure.

Please be sure that you have withdrawn all your funds and that there are no pending transactions before initiating the account closure process, otherwise, the process will fail.

⚠️ Once your account is closed, the action is irreversible, and you will no longer have access to your Plum account or any associated data. You will also receive an email confirmation regarding the successful closure of your account.
