Deposit to Normal Pockets
Updated over 9 months ago

To deposit money into your Plum account, please open the Pockets section in the app and then the Primary Pocket. You should be able to see the Deposit button there. Currently, we offer 3 methods of depositing money into your pockets.

Method 1: The Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the simplest and most convenient way to make deposits. It allows businesses like Plum to automatically collect recurring payments from a user’s bank account with their prior authorization. You can use this method for one-off manual transactions as well.

  • It requires you to have an active Direct Debit mandate.

  • It takes 3-4 working days for the money to be settled into your Plum account.

💡 The automated transfers from the deposit rules are being deposited in your account via the Direct Debit method.

Method 2: The Instant Deposits

With this method, you can make manual deposits into your Plum account in real time. This requires your bank to support the following function:

  • Faster Payments for transactions within the UK

  • SEPA Instant for transactions within the EU

To use this method, you are required to have installed your banking app on the device you use Plum with. This is important because you will be redirected to your banking app to verify the transfer.

Note: This method is valid only for manual transactions initiated by the user. The automated transfers from the deposit rules are being transferred with the Direct Debit method.

Method 3: Manual Bank Transfer

If your app supports it, Plum will provide you with a dedicated IBAN that is tightly connected to your Primary Pocket. This way, you will be able to make a deposit directly from your banking app.

  • It requires you to have your banking app installed on the device you are using Plum

  • It takes around 1-2 working days for the bank transaction to be settled into your Plum account.

  • Banking fees may apply that are not refundable. Please consult your bank before using this method.

⚠️ If you don’t see this deposit method available in the app, it means that it’s not supported for your account. Please make sure you use only the IBAN that is provided inside the app.
