Closing your SIPP account with Plum depends on how long the account has been active:
If the account has been active for less than 30 days: You can request a closure during the cooling-off period. Simply fill out the SIPP Cancellation Document and email it to help@withplum.com to initiate the process. You will receive your full contributions and any tax relief that occurs will be returned to HMRC.
If the account has been active for more than 30 days: Plum cannot close the account or return the funds, as the account is reported to HMRC. However, you can still transfer your pension to another provider or request an early withdrawal with the relevant tax implications.
